ACTIA Aerospace: Electronics at the Heart of Critical Systems, From Ground to Space

ACTIA Aerospace is the division of the ACTIA Group dedicated to electronic and telecommunication systems in the most demanding environments. Its mission is to design, manufacture, and support critical solutions that combine performance, reliability, and innovation.

With over 300 employees out of the Group’s 4,000 and a revenue of €72M in 2024, ACTIA Aerospace has established itself as a key partner for major players in aeronautics, space, and satellite communications, whether civilian, governmental, or defense.

“Our mission is clear: to support our clients in environments where the highest standards are required. In aeronautics, space, and SatCom, we design critical systems where reliability leaves no room for compromise.”
François CONTOU-CARRERE, CEO of ACTIA Aerospace

A comprehensive and differentiating offering

With decades of experience, ACTIA Aerospace stands out for its ability to operate across the entire value chain in sectors where the highest demands apply.

Aeronautics – Industrial electronics services

In the skies, ACTIA Aerospace supports major aeronautics players with a full range of industrial electronic services. The company excels in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) and obsolescence management, ensuring continuity of highly critical embedded systems. Its impact is tangible: every three seconds, an aircraft takes off worldwide with ACTIA equipment onboard. With over 25 years of avionics production expertise, the company delivers more than 6,000 flight computers annually and was the first European EMS accredited by NADCAP in 2008.

Space – On-board electronics solutions

ACTIA Aerospace is also a key provider of industrial solutions for satellite constellations, with over 1,500 units delivered, demonstrating the ability to combine space-grade quality with serial production. The company also designs custom equipment for all types of missions and has participated in over 100 space missions. Additionally, ACTIA Aerospace offers a full range of off-the-shelf electronic equipment: onboard computers, processing units, mass memories, power converters, receivers, and GNSS navigators. The division leverages the historical expertise of its subsidiary, STEEL Electronique, with over 40 years of experience in designing and producing embedded electronic systems, allowing agile responses to all needs.

SatCom – Advanced ground systems

ACTIA Aerospace strengthens its presence in the space sector with advanced expertise in satellite ground communication systems. On the ground, the company designs and manufactures complete ground segments (power amplifiers, terminals, supervision systems) and supports civilian, institutional, and military clients across the entire value chain: design, manufacturing, integration, commissioning, and operational maintenance. With over 50 years of experience, 2,000 systems delivered, and 500 technical missions annually across more than 20 countries, ACTIA Aerospace is a major player in global SatCom infrastructure deployment.

ACTIA Aerospace enhances ACTIA Group’s international presence

In aeronautics, space, and SatCom, the level of requirement is exceptional: a flight computer, onboard computer, or mass memory on a satellite must operate flawlessly, as even a minor failure could compromise passenger safety or a mission’s success. ACTIA Aerospace stands out for its ability to design and produce embedded electronic systems capable of operating in environments with zero tolerance for error. This expertise complements other ACTIA Group divisions, which address equally strategic challenges, including sustainable mobility, energy, and engineering. These critical activities strengthen the Group’s technological credibility and innovation capacity in sectors where reliability is vital. ACTIA Aerospace provides unique electronics and telecommunication expertise, supporting the Group’s global growth and international influence.

Looking ahead: innovating for the future

In a geopolitical context marked by growing tensions and a redefinition of technological balances, security and sovereignty have become major concerns. As connectivity, technological mastery, and New Space challenges intensify, ACTIA Aerospace pursues its ambition: to remain at the heart of critical systems and support its clients From Ground to Space.

“The development of New Space, increased connectivity needs, and the imperatives of sovereignty and security open major opportunities. ACTIA Aerospace is ready to meet these challenges, staying true to its mission: to be, today and tomorrow, at the heart of critical systems.”
