An Industrial and International Group
ACTIA was founded in 1986 by Messrs. CALMELS, CHABRERIE and PECH as a « spin-off » from a department of BENDIX in Toulouse (France). The founders’ families PECH and CALMELS are still majority shareholders of the Group. ACTIA is a family and independent Group.
From the outset, ACTIA’s strategy has been to develop into an international industrial group.
In 1988, the acquisition of the Alcyon industrial site led to the first electronics production unit of the Group. This French site in Colomiers (near Toulouse, France) was joined in 1997 and 2008 by units in Tunis (Tunisia), and in 2018 by a unit based in Detroit (United States). Two other electronic manufacturing sites, one in Sweden and, more recently, in Spain, complete this cutting-edge industrial base.
1991 saw the start of ACTIA’s international expansion. At a rate of at least one acquisition or start-up per year, ACTIA has expanded on every continent and in many countries: in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Mexico, Germany, the United States, Brazil, Italy, Poland, India, China, Sweden, Belgium, Japan and, more recently, in Egypt.
Other acquisitions will enable ACTIA to consolidate its core business – embedded and connected electronics solutions and on-board systems for mobility – and develop new directions in buoyant segments such as satellite communications and energy management.

2024, ACTIA is organized into 4 Divisions:
- Mobility Division: solutions for ground mobility vehicles: light vehicles, commercial, industrial, and special vehicles, micro-mobility and railway.
- Energy Division: energy management, transport and distribution solutions for electrical network operators and industry.
- Aerospace Division: solutions for the aerospace and defense markets.
- Engineering Services Division: for the growing needs of the electronics sector in terms of engineering, particularly software.
