ACTIA is in the running for the ITxPT label

In August 2017, the new version of the ITxPT technical specifications was published, marking the starting point for ITxPT solution requests in specifications of bus operators and authorities. As a founding member of ITxPT, ACTIA was on the starting blocks with the AES2 Automotive Ethernet Switch, the first module of this type to obtain a quality label and the first module in the ACTIA range to receive one.

The ITxPT requirements concerning inter-operability for public transport fleets reduce costs, increase flexibility and improve performance. The ITxPT specifications describe the physical requirements, general architecture, generic mechanisms with the communication protocols and the data models providing "plug and play" for the modules.

This reference standard is now mentioned in calls for tenders from the transport authorities and by public transport operators as requirements for vehicles and on-board solutions. Stakeholders in the sector are focusing their efforts bringing both on-board modules as well as vehicles from bus manufacturers in compliance.

ACTIA provides support to operator and integrator customers, allowing them to be ready for the introduction of ITxPT, and given its position as an original equipment supplier, to provide manufacturers with high-quality automotive systems that have obtained labels.

Between now and 2018, the entire range of ACTIA equipment modules and applications will be stamped ITxPT. After the AES2 Ethernet switch, next up for the label is the new generation of driver consoles, Multi-Application Driver Terminal - MADT, the Telematics Gateway Unit (TGU-R), on-board computers SAM and SBS, as well as passenger information screens, etc. These solutions are the result of the group’s expertise in vehicle architecture, offering a new approach to equipment and services, hardware and completely open software. So many functional blocks that guarantee the interoperability of the on-board services, reducing development costs of vehicles and systems, while improving their user-friendliness.

ACTIA solutions are ready to contribute to offering the passenger of the future new services based on increasingly connected and stringent mobility.
