Running is Caring at ACTIA Telecom!

May 2018 News

In 2018, for the third time running, ACTIA Telecom is taking part in the Eiffage Millau Viaduct Race. On the initiative of the Single Staff Delegation, this event was a great success in 2014 and 2016. In the last few months, training has resumed, and everyone is talking about the race during their coffee break. The 89 people on the ACTIA team are ready and set to go!

Participants in the race from ACTIA Telecom have set a goal for themselves: not in terms of speed, exploits or glory, but simply to run for a cause that matters to them: to show their solidarity with their colleague and friend. Natacha, 36, has been working at ACTIA Telecom for 13 years. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2004.

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system. It causes lesions, which lead to motor, sensory and cognitive disturbances. To date, there are 100,000 sufferers in France, and ¾ of these are women. There is no cure for MS. Natacha will be at the starting line of the race on Sunday 27 May 2018. At her side will be a whole team, ready to take her to the highest bridge in Europe in a “joëlette” chair pulled by her colleagues and friends.

See you on 27 May at the Millau Viaduct, the highest bridge in Europe.

The missions of the ARSEP foundation are to inform the public about this disease, and fund research through donations. The runners in the ACTIA Telecom team will carry the foundation’s colours high.

In the name of this good cause, the ACTIA Telecom Single Staff Delegation of the Saint-Georges-de-Luzençon site has brought together 89 participants from all of the company’s sites. “Running is caring!” This will be ACTIA Telecom’s motto in the race. On 27 May, ACTIA’s runners will stand out by wearing green: the colour of the ARSEP Foundation.
