ACTIA's CAAS project: to support the automotive industry in a context of rapid transformation

Funded by the state as part of the automotive recovery plan, the ACTIA project dubbed CaaS-3 - for Car As A Service - tackles the challenges faced by the Automotive Industry of the Future. In particular, it provides support to this industry which faces profound technological, environmental, and competitive challenges. The CaaS project is a disruptive project that aims to continue the work already undertaken and to address the major issues faced by car manufacturers with their "Industry of the Future" Strategy:

  • Technological issues, to optimise compliance control and automatic programming of increasingly complex vehicles in a production chain that is increasingly connected and interconnected with the outside (downstream industry).
  • Environmental issues, by proposing a substantial solution for automotive manufacturers to save on energy consumption in their production factories.
  • Societal issues, by improving the attractiveness of industrial trades with solutions that transform the operator into a supervisor rather than a mere executor.

This project is fully in line with the strategy set out by the ACTIA Diagnostic Division, which aims to propose wide-ranging diagnostic solutions to all players in the automotive industry. In this case, the Caas-3 project is ACTIA’s response to its vision of the Extended Factory (eX Factory).

David ELIZALDE
Director of Development & Innovation Programmes, presents the challenges of this project, both for the industry and for ACTIA.
