Machine maintenance thanks to remote diagnostics
Type of machine: tractor
Context
In a context where machine performance and productivity are major issues, manufacturers are faced with the need to optimise their costs, particularly those related to time and maintenance operations. Every minute of downtime represents a significant loss: hence the importance of effective and responsive solutions.
Solution
To address these challenges, ACTIA has developed a remote diagnostics and intelligent maintenance solution based on its dedicated telematics gateway, the TGU-R. Thanks to this technology, data can be exchanged quickly, enabling immediate intervention in the event of an anomaly.
In concrete terms, as soon as a malfunction is detected, the technician can remotely access the vehicle via the telematics control unit. This allows him to establish an accurate diagnosis, without travelling, and intervene more quickly. The remote connection also makes it possible to reconfigure or update the control unit software to integrate new functionalities or improve performance.
Results
This solution enables a significant reduction in downtime, optimised technical assistance and lower maintenance costs, while improving responsiveness to incidents.
What our customers say
Before implementing ACTIA's solution, our technicians wasted valuable time travelling to sites for sometimes simple diagnoses. Today, thanks to remote diagnostics, we are more responsive and efficient. An alert, remote access, and the problem is often solved in minutes. It's a real change in our maintenance management.

Reliability and Durability of Machines
Type of machine: aerial work platforms
Development of a robust and durable electro-hydraulic ECU, respecting the same mechanical and electrical interfaces as the previous equipment manufacturer, while meeting the size and cost constraints for secure lifting solutions.
Solution
The ACTIA team has designed a compact and unitary dedicated ECU that performs all the necessary mechanical functions, thus reducing manufacturing and integration costs. Thanks to close collaboration between the safety, engineering, purchasing and obsolescence departments, a cost-effective solution has been found. The aim was to ensure exceptional reliability over an expected lifespan of more than 10 years.
Results
Aerial work platforms have been equipped with this ECU, offering precise, safe and consistent aerial movements since 2005. The ECU’s lifespan has been extended to over 18 years thanks to obsolescence management and rigorous monitoring.
What our customers are saying
Our priority was to guarantee maximum reliability on our nacelles, while retaining our existing interfaces. ACTIA was able to propose a solution perfectly adapted to our technical and economic requirements. For almost 20 years, their ECUs have held the course, without failing, despite successive crises. It's a valuable collaboration, founded on durability, rigour and listening.

Compliance with safety and cybersecurity Standards and Regulations
Type of machine: all-terrain cranes
Development of robust ECUs to control electrical and hydraulic functions, in compliance with on- and off-road safety regulations, while integrating cybersecurity features.
Solution
The proposed architecture was dedicated to harsh environments, using adapted standard products for control, diagnostics and integrated management. The solutions include ISO 13849 safety units for lifting and stability safety, and units to ensure compliance with the ISO 26262 standard for moving vehicles.
Results
By integrating cybersecurity into the safety ECUs, the solution enabled rapid machine certification while ensuring safety and reliability, with high resilience to cyberattacks.
What users say
We had a double challenge: to guarantee the safety of our all-terrain cranes, both in motion and when stationary, and to integrate the cybersecurity requirements imposed by regulations. ACTIA supported us with reliable, robust solutions that comply with ISO standards. Thanks to this approach, we were able to obtain our certifications on time, while strengthening the resilience of our systems. A true trusted partner on critical issues.

Robust and customisable monitors for cabins in extreme environments
Type of machinery: Excavators
Development of monitors resistant to severe environmental conditions as part of the cabin redesign, while respecting customisation and interoperability constraints.
Solution
ACTIA has designed robust, compact monitors capable of adapting to various types of machine. The process included intensive exchanges with client and supplier teams, as well as proactive obsolescence management.
Results
The solution has enabled the integration of high-definition TFT screens, resistant to extreme conditions, offering excellent visibility in direct sunlight, an intuitive touch interface and modern features such as alarms and a panoramic view, helping to improve operator productivity and safety.
Type of machinery: Excavators
Need for an electro-hydraulic ECU covering a wide range of machines, with strict environmental and economic performance requirements.
Solution
ACTIA proposed a solution of standard product variants, adapted to the customer’s specific needs while respecting reduced development costs. By using a modular ECU platform, the solution enabled a significant reduction in development times while offering optimum flexibility.
Results
This choice has reduced development costs, accelerated time-to-market and optimised the use of software and hardware resources.
They talk about it better than we do
The redesign of our cabins and the upgrading of our excavators demanded robust, flexible and rapidly deployable solutions. With ACTIA, we found much more than just a supplier: a committed partner, capable of designing bespoke monitors and offering modular ECUs perfectly suited to our machine fleet. The result: shorter lead times, controlled costs and equipment that meets both the field requirements of operators and those of our design office.

Optimising the costs and lead times for machine development
Machine type: Seed drill and stubble plough
Development of a decentralised electronic architecture for optimising the functions of agricultural tools, with size and corrosive environment constraints.
Solution
ACTIA has opted for a decentralised architecture, with modular and specific ECUs for each function. This approach has enabled a reduction in costs while optimising development time.
Results
The client was able to develop an innovative and efficient solution for agriculture, with a reduction in energy consumption and positive environmental impacts, while ensuring precise control of sowing operations.
What our customers say
We were looking for a solution that was both technical and pragmatic to develop our agricultural tools. ACTIA offered us a decentralised architecture perfectly suited to our constraints, with modular ECUs per function. Result: faster development, reduced costs and much more precise control of our seed drills and stubble ploughs. A real step forward in terms of efficiency and sustainability.
Innovation Manager at an agricultural equipment manufacturer
Connectivity, maintenance and fleet management
Machine type: forestry equipment
Need for a robust telematics device capable of connecting in remote areas, in order to prevent breakdowns and optimise profitability.
Solution
ACTIA provided a field telemetry solution using multiple connectivity (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet) and a satellite modem to ensure coverage in areas without cellular network.
Results
The digitalisation of forestry equipment has made it possible to monitor the geographical location of machines in real time, carry out remote diagnostics, and optimise the management of fuel stocks and alerts in the event of breakdowns, helping to increase productivity and reduce costs.
View from the field
In our sector, machines often operate in the middle of the forest, far from any conventional network coverage. ACTIA's telematics solution, with its satellite modem and multiple connection channels, has enabled us to take a step forward in fleet management. We now have real-time visibility, effective remote diagnostics, and a real ability to anticipate breakdowns. It's a direct lever on our profitability.
