The history of an international industrial group
ACTIA was founded in 1986 by Messrs. CALMELS, CHABRERIE, and PECH during the spin-off of the “small series” department of BENDIX in Toulouse, France. The PECH and CALMELS families remain the majority shareholders of the Group, thus preserving its family identity and independence.
From its inception, ACTIA pursued a strategic direction that, over the years, shaped it into an international industrial group.
In 1988, the acquisition of the Alcyon industrial site marked the establishment of its first electronic production unit. This French site, located in Colomiers (near Toulouse), was later complemented by units in Tunis (Tunisia) in 1997 and 2008, and in Detroit (USA) in 2018. Two additional sites—one in
Sweden and more recently in Spain—further enhance this advanced industrial infrastructure.
ACTIA’s international expansion began in 1991, with the Group growing at the pace of one acquisition or company creation per year across various continents and countries: the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Germany, the United States, Brazil, Poland, India, China, Sweden, Belgium, Japan, and more recently Egypt.
